This year we will have staggered entry dates.
We are focussing on safety protocols and expectations with all of our students. We will begin with Grades 4, 5 and 6. The idea is to have the older students be role models for the younger ones. For the first few days back, we will try to reduce the number of students in the hallway based on routines for recess and lunch time. The students from Grades 4, 5 and 6 will continue to attend as usual as Grades 1, 2 and 3 enter for the second day (see below). On the 31st, our Kinder teachers meet with K4 and K5 parents (while maintaining social distancing measures) and the Kinders will enter on the 3rd day of opening, 1 September. This means Grades 1-6 will be at OES on the Monday, 31 August, and all students, including the Kinders, will be here on Tuesday, 1 September.
Grades 4/5 and Grades 5/6: Friday, 28 August (Ms. Peck and Ms. Savard)
Grades 1/2 and Grades 3/4: Monday, 31 August (Ms. Turcotte and Ms. Schneider)
Kinders, 5 yrs., and 4 yrs., Tuesday, 1 September (Ms. Wright and Ms. Ferreira)
Kinder parents can expect more information specifically regarding the Kinder start-up from Ms. Ferreira and Ms Wright next week, between 25-27 August.
Day Care for students in the grades noted above will have the same start dates.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on 17 September. However, given safety protocols, we will NOT have the “meet the teacher” portion of the open house evening. Teachers will prepare information/presentations that will be delivered on-line. Parents interested in the vote for Governing Board representatives and parent committee representative will be welcome to attend a meeting held outside (weather permitting) or in the gym keeping masks and social distancing protocols in mind. The meeting is scheduled for 5 pm, 17 September.
More information will be made available on line next week.
