Due to weather alerts and extreme heat forecasted by Environment Canada for much of the province of Quebec, and considering the special sanitary circumstances of the current COVID-19 pandemic, all schools/centres in the Western Quebec School Board will switch to distance learning as per each school’s learning schedule for Monday June 7 and Tuesday June 8.
For OES, this will mean that teachers will prepare learning activities for home, some of which can be retrieved from school on Monday by parents and guardians. Teachers will be in contact with families by email and / or by phone.
Note that Wednesday, June 9, is a strike day by the professionals association (school board consultants, accountants, psychologists, librarians) from 12:01 am to 12:01pm. Learning activities will be provided by teaching staff with regular contact as noted above.
Regular, in-person classes and school activities will resume as usual on Thursday, 10 June.
